Surreptitious Opinionation

So, last year, I spent the entire year sleeping on a queen sized air mattress. Right before I moved to chicago it developed a leak I couldn’t find, and thus, couldn’t fix. I didn’t bother replacing it, but did get a small hand-me-down bed and mattress from over the summer. Well, Scott (whom I will hereafter refer to as my “three week boyfriend” or twb, presumptive and silly though that certainly is) will be replacing his very nice queen sized bed before moving to germany.

So, my plans are to get rental van on Sunday, get the bed, drop it off at my place, then go to ikea, get a couple shelves, and a kitchen table. I may also pick up a card table and folding chairs as an act of game night optimism.

Anyone else up for an ikea trip? Als, anyone with an excessively large vehicle want to help me not support uhaul/budget/ryder? There’s a nice dinner in it for you.

Well, it seems that the Vatican really is intent on shedding the unneccessary deadweight of a fair fraction of their clergy and their limited standing in Western Europe and the US.

I’m on the eve of not being poor. I may be getting a queen size bed (hand me down), a couple cheap tables, and some ikea (or target, probably target) bookshelves this weekend. Yay for massive domesticity.

My laptop is a desktop for the time being. My laptop screen is dead. If apple will fix it, I may even buy the applecare, extend your warranty for two more years, plan. If they won’t, I’ll find a really tiny hexkey set, and fix the problem myself. Grrr!

Why the fuck do laptop screens use the damn foldover cable connector anyway? “Hi, this part keeps breaking, should we try to fix it?” “Shut up, go back to your cube, and work on an upgrade that will raise our stock market value.”

I mean, there have got to be two million different ways they could ditch this perpetual achilles heel of laptops. Why the hell haven’t they done any of them?

I’d hoped it would take longer for my disenchantment with my grad school life to return. Sadly, it did not.

I did meet today, totally on accident. That was pretty cool. Awww, the fledgling homos.

Now to cheer myself up by sitting my homo ass on the couch and reading a comic book in graphic novel form with both title and central character of the prince of darkness.

For my blogging and news purposes, I’m planning on getting an RSS aggregator. I want one that actually aggregates, runs on Mac OS 10.3, doesn’t suck, is free, and supports authentication. Any suggestions?
