I’ve settled on 4 classes, and unofficially auditing a 5th.

  • Science & State
  • Community Economic Development
  • Environmental Classics
  • Resource & Environmental Economics
  • audit: Terrestrial ecology

I’m up to date on the readings in environmental classics, and in no other class. But I like my classes.

The qgpa situation is improving. The mailing list has been located. A few people have taken an interest.

When down in the dumps on thursday, I went to my departmental happy hour, then left early rather than be a whiny bitch. I stuck my head inside the eagle/bolt, and the brass rail before settling on the saloon. The eye contact game was being played while I was sitting alone. I ended up drinking 4 beers on an empty stomach (my digestive system later let me know this was not acceptable, though not by puking), while talking with Ali. He’s from toronto, his dad was from Tehran. He has some understandable internal conflict. We talked alot about religion and philosophy, while sitting close together and touching one another a great deal. I tried to help him manage his conflict, but obviously there’s only so much I can do in those circumstances.

Friday evening I met Scott, recent host to , at a potluck at the cooperative in which he dwells for another couple weeks. I had a good time. I got to see him play tour guide. He got to see me play history teacher. I was disturbed by Seth’s mysterious disappearance from his apartment nearby. I later discovered this was because he had moved in July. When I left in the morning, I was feeling much better about the world, though still concerned about Seth.

Saturday evening, I ended up hanging out with and Seth in Uptown. We chatted for awhile including the memorable statement from Dee: “You guys make me feel so straight and female.” Indian munchies were had. Seth protested playing San Juan, but won handily, while I lost dramatically. It was fun and good, and then people went home.

Sunday was mostly reading Silent Spring (I am now planning on staying vegan, and this did influence me to buy the organic lemons for my lemon bars, despite said lemons being a little more than ten times as expensive as the conventional lemons). I also headed over to ‘s place for a little gaming. It ended up just being he and I. We played Set (he won handily) and San Juan (I won handily), and a couple of hands of demonstration tichu (virtual partners, open hands). He managed to go out 1-2 twice! Either I’m a great teacher or a lousy tichu player. =) Little from column a, little from column b… Dinner at Jasmine Deli, then home.

I finished up and emailed in my silent spring paper with 5 minutes to spare. Sadly, missed lunch with , but I’m sure other opportunities will present themselves.

From Friday evening on, I’ve been getting around by bike, I don’t think I’ve even set foot on a bus since then. There has been no sign of blood or pain, and I am monitoring the situation closely. As soon as such starts, I’ll stop. Also, the greenway is open. I had to bike around construction equipment, but I was still off the streets. I am so happy.

Plans for this week include gymnastics tonight, possible gaming on tuesday, a double dose of gaming on wed (lunch and evening), probably seeing Scott again on thursday, and potentially more gymnastics on friday.

My mac’s screen seems to be having the fold over ribbon problem. I’ll probably take it to the store to have it cared for this weekend. Le Sigh. I guess this means I’m pulling my desktop out of storage.

  1. 🙁 I feel really bad about lunch. But there will be many other opportunities, I’m around there around lunch time quite often, so hopefully I’ll see you around.
