A time for fare wells

I’m glad I came to Austin and I’m kinda sad to be leaving the good people here. I’m glad I got a chance to see people again, albeit briefly, including , , , and . Special thanks to my hosts for hooking me (and ) up with for RotK goodness, as well as transportational happiness, and good conversation, wish we’d had more time, and for tasty indian dinners (including some of the best chapati I’ve had), introducing me to lord of the rings: confrontation and two-player puerto rico (and repeatedly kicking my ass in it), and playing super smash bros melee. Also many thanks to for guiding me around and showing me the downtown parts of Austin, exposing me to some new music, and just generally adding a little expansion to my horizons, while still providing a feeling of comfortable security. It was a pleasure to have met you.

I’m pretty sure I’m sick

Started off today feeling not so good. Headache, tired, fever-y feeling. Ugh. A really hot bath helped a fair amount, but it was definitely hanging out during the day. Came back again after lunch. I feel really bleh! It’s been years since I’ve had this mild-cold kinda sick, and it’s doing a great job of turning me into a whiny baby. =) Especially on this weekend with friends (whom I’m trying to avoid spreading anything to. Double bleh!)

1820. “I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesom discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.” (to Wiliam C. Jarvis, 28 September)
