Time article on gay youth

I finally got around to reading the Time article that came out a few weeks (months?) ago. The first paragraph left me wanting to burn the mag (the stereotype of gay culture irked me. We are not all affluent, fashion-oriented dilletantes.) It did get better from there, though it still irked me. The expectation that social scientists would be able to say anything meaningful about a population they cannot define, locate, or randomly sample also exhasperated me. I was also amused by the site http://www.inqueery.com/ mostly due to the contrast with .

How to dispose of tickets

So I have these two clinton tickets, and I’ve determined that I don’t want them. About the only way I’m going to go is if there is some awesome, intelligent, attractive, politically motivated guy who is all about taking one ticket and actively wants me to come with him.

Right, so, back to reality. Now I have to determine where they would do the most good. More people wanting them than tickets to go around. Money is not an option. How do you think I should determine who gets them?

The posts that never made it

I started a couple of posts that never quite made it.

I was going to announce my thanksgiving travel plans, but I haven’t bought the tickets. I’m probably flying into Columbus, OH on tue evening and flying back on saturday, with a trip to KY going on Wed-Fri.

I was also going to get into my recent gay.com experiences. I decided what would it hurt, and got back on. I met several interesting fellows, but after having met them and established other modes of communication, I feel like I quickly tapped out the vein of interesting and worthwhile people that weren’t already in my address book or IM contact list. And it reverted to a habitual presence, distracting, but not in any way useful. So, I deleted the client again. =) *shrug*

Oh yeah, and I activated my ffxi account again. Mesharr returns! And she’s made it to 38. This means that diablo will not be played again any time soon. =)

I should get into the pluses and minuses of the various games at some point. Each are pretty mindless, but more interactive than television. *shrug* Anyway.

Those are my weekend posts that never got quite made.
