Roommate Seeking

It seems my roommate is now officially moving in with her boyfriend. I have mixed feelings on this. Regan’s pretty cool, but the pets in the apartment were getting on my nerves. And I want to renew my lease. That’s a first for me, but I’m cool with it. My only problem is going to be finding a roommate to keep things affordable. Off to the aclu =)

  1. No Roommates!!!

I did the roommate-seeking thing in January… Put ads online and got lots of replies… then decided against all but one – who ended up failing his credit check with my rental agent… SIGH… Ive decided that debt without headache is the way to go for now! Hope your luck is better (or that youre less jaded about living with most people).

I don’t think I would room with a stranger at this point in my life. Luckily I found a place I could afford on my “entry-level tyrant” salary. I would like to move to a 2-bedroom in this neighborhood but nobody I know is interested.

  2. I WOULD have a roommate

I look to the long term goals. It would surely save on monthly bills. But picking compatible roommies is a fine art.

Issues of property security, roommie’s respect of my property and compatible living styles rank at the top of what I would try to settle. I am one of the least trustful creatures you will find in the wild. Let me change that. I do trust people. I trust people to act based on their own best interest. That has been a good barometer to predict future behavior.

Disrespectful, inconsiderate, reckless, consciousless, irresponsible, unstable roommates drive me up the wall. My upfront, aggressive and no-nonsense problem solving tendencies tend to shock free loaders who were used to get their way. Threats of physical violence don’t work with me.

    What have been your nightmares??
