inappropriately tired & d2x

I slept plenty last night and the night before, but I was dragging yesterday and am not entirely with it today. Not sure why. *shrug*

I got my pilot roommate started on diablo 2 a month or so ago. So last night I got the expansion and joined in. He has 2 sorceresses. For variety I have a necromancer (planning on fire golem/lower resist/bone spirit as my main skills) and a paladin I plan to make a vengeance / convixtion primary, to match up with his sorcs.

I seem to have a fascination with the sacred and profane chracter classes. =) see also warlock and paladin being my main WoW classes of choice.

    1. Yeah, it is kinda fun to revisit, though it’s amusing to think of a sequel as oldschool. Then I think about all the folks who are unaware that there is a final fantasy before 7. =)

I think d2 has a lot more going for it as a multiplayer game than the original. Auras, curses, shouts and spirits all enable one character helping another out. Other than taking hits for an opponent and/or killing the things wailing on someone else, I’m not even sure how you could help another player in the original, but it has been a long time since I played, and I never sampled the expansion for that one.

      1. Oh, for sure, D2 was definitely meant to be more multiplayer friendly. The best teamwork I ever managed in the first one was being a sorcerer while my teammate was a rogue, and standing behind the rogue shooting holy bolts (through her) while she shot arrows. Brought down Diablo like a charm. 🙂

  1. I haven’t played D2 in years, but I’m pretty sure when you say Warlock you mean Necromancer. That was actually my second favorite class, after sorceress, despite being low damage. There was something about being surrounded by hordes of skeletons and a golem laying waste to everything nearby that I found very appealing.

  2. i too have a fascination with the sacred and profane, which is why i always combine a balrog and a wizard. of course, they almost always end up fighting each other, falling down a cavern to the root of the earth, and i get no where.

oh well. at least my wizard comes back stronger and pearly white.
