My weekend update

This weekend I had one of my trademark uneventful weekends:

  • slept for like 12 hours when I should have been packing
  • moved my big stuff quickly on saturday
  • had tasty brunch at Victory’s Banner. It’s the far-east guru variety of vegetarian restauarant, and, true to theme, is quite tasty. This with my lovely moving assistants: bhudson**, radicalnerdgirl*, and moved+. Sadly the new roommate, Barry, couldn’t join us at VB.
  • planned the next stage of the constitution drafting process with my favorite co-volunteer.
  • tried to pack more on Saturday, and rolled a very low success.
  • Went to party with my roommate-for-a-day (he was moving out as I was moving in). Cool guy, IP lawyer, cyclist, friendly, moving to logan’s square. (ugh, though really, I guess that’s not too far now).
  • Ran my 10 miler, averaging about a 9:15 pace. Better than I expected to do.
  • Redistributed Papa-san and recyclables to radicalnerdgirl
  • Finished packing and cleaning my place. People familiar with the old place would not recognize it now. Iz Kleen!

And the things I did not get done still they are remembered. Mostly on sunday. Failure to make it to church for the monthly GLBT brunch and, more significantly, failure to make it to moved‘s for the board games.

ETA: I think it’s safe to say I have solved my “not enough stuff for all that space problem”. It’s even safer to say I now have the reverse problem. Alas. =)

** = I think he deserves special recognition for moving from “I really just met you” to “I’m lugging heavy objects for you” in about a week. Thanks, Benoit!
* = Her warrior princess kiai as she attacked the mess in my kitchen with her cleaner-squirting robo-swiffer was both daunting and inspiring.
+ = Mad propz for mad tetris skills.

  1. moving to logan’s square. (ugh, though really, I guess that’s not too far now).

big talk for someone who’s actually closer to Bucktown than Lakeview! 😉

glad the move and your run went off well this weekend!

      1. “closer” should have probably been “equidistant”. the distance to halsted or the highway is also the distance to damen/armitage. i think bucktown is the larger area outside and surrounding wicker park — kind of like how andersonville is a small section within edgewater.
