Hey all,
Especially those of you who know Dallas. I’m heading out there mid november for a boardgaming convention at a hotel near the airport. Any suggestions for a good place to stay? I’m looking for cheap, but close to the airport, with t3h intarnets. The hosting hotel itself costs $125/night for a room w/ 2 beds. I’m more than open to sharing lodging costs with friendly geeks.

I’m actually staying at the host hotel, and I don’t yet have a roommate, so I’d be happy to split a room. However, I don’t get there until Friday, so if you’re getting in on Thursday that probably won’t work well.
Yay cheaper hotel rooms. Sounds like a plan.
Bear in mind that there are TWO airports in Dallas. There is Love Field, which is the older airport more or less IN town. There are hotels around there of reasonable pricing, but not tons of them. The BIG airport — DFW — is a few miles out but surrounded by much more of the “near the airport” sort of development. You’ll probably find better prices and more selection there, but you’re also quite a bit further out. So it depends on how close-in you want to be (and, I suppose, what airline you’re flying: if you’re on Southwest you’re probably coming into Love; if not, you’re probably coming into DFW).
