So, thanks to tardis freebsd is working better on my laptop than ever before. Now all I have to do is get java working under galeon (I’ll find it somewhere in /usr/ports, I’m sure), pick my multinetwork chat client, and setup sound, so that I can play my mp3s (about which I am less optimistic) and I’ll be good to go. =)

/usr/ports/java/jdk13, yeah. You have to do some irritating things with agreeing to Sun license agreements and manually downloading tarballs for the port to build and install, but when it does galeon and mozilla should just magically know how to use the java plugin it generates.
Sound is pretty easy, but probably a pain to explain over LJ.
