Victory declared! It’s a really nice apartment, a bit farther south than is ideal socially, but good for the commute (half a mile from the fullerton station, a little bit less to clark street). I saw 8 apartments today. This is the only one I spotted while walking around, the rest were all internet appointments. Hey there, I recently acquired an awesome pad on a quiet side street about 10 minutes walk from the fullerton L station. It has large, separate board game, video game, and snack storage/preparation areas. Additionally, your crash space area can hold a queen size sleep surface (to share with the nerd(s)/nerdette(s) of your dreams) with room for a computer desk, so that we can discuss important living space issues via the appropriate medium, the interweb. Additionally, there should be plenty of closet space for all your comic books, board games, networking equipment, server racks, etc. It is a north facing end unit, with plenty of windows for sunlight, thus vampires should look elsewhere, but the sun should be sufficiently indirect for all others.
Rent is 700 dollars, including heat. Sadly, the other essentials of life, most notably internet, will have to be split evenly between the two of us. The things that keep your clothes smelling nice run on the usual little metal disks, and live in the basement. There is only one bathroom with all the standard features. Smokers and homophobes are welcome to look somewhere else. Preferably far away. I suggest Zimbabwe (low rent, favorably exchange rate, tropical climate, the benefits go on and on…).
I hope you appreciate the humor of this post in the spirit it was intended. I do tend to be a bit less ridiculous with roommates in meatspace. But only a bit.

In a break in the housing hunt, I hit a comic book store for the first time in a very long time. I picked up the first Runaways (recommended to me awhile ago by
