I did see Hellbent. What an amazing piece of cinem… Oh, wait, wrong movie. Yeah, I kinda regret the two hours lost from my life never to be retrieved, but if you’re more prone to oggling muscular shirtless guys than I, or have a gore fixation, you may well like this movie. It has several standard jump moments. It’s kinda like a not-as-well-done Scream for the gay crowd. More or less what one would expect from the preview.
And I was 8 minutes late to class this morning. I think I’m going to start aiming for 15 minutes early and see if that gets me there on time. =)
The pictures on the website looked, ummm… Intriguing. Perhaps something to rent on DVD.
It’ll be perfect for Halloween 2006 on DVD.
Haven’t seen it, and don’t intend to. First, because I’m too much of a nervous wreck to watch horror flics. I hate the “sick to my stomach” anxiety I feel when I watch those things. For crying out loud, I was sitting at the edge of my seat when I saw the modern version of Godzilla (yes, I’m a such a woos).
But even if I did like that genre, I don’t think I’d go see it. I don’t like the idea of adapting everything to “gay”. I mean, some things were essential for us to be seen, and eventually accepted: gay litterature, gay bars, etc. Some things were meant as a venue for more openly social gathering: gay villages in its whole, gay sports activites, magazines. Those, and other things, I totally agree with, and encourage.
But do we need to push it so far as to make gay horror movies? What’s the point? Do we need to have a gay version of everything? What’s next? A gay tv news channel? a gay weather network? a gay Oscar’s ceremony? a gay University?
I think it was just an excuse to show some flesh. hello ghetto.
