In the spirit of a recent entry by , instead of bitching about how livejournal uses the word “friends” to describe the journals I subscribe too, I did something about it. I spent about 2 hours figuring out how to customize my view so that the only places that the word “friends” shows up are in the url, on the user info page, and on the menu bar on the default view pages, because I can’t change any of that. I also changed the layout to one that uses more of the page’s width, so that I’m less vulnerable to oversized images resizing my pages.
A useless waste of time and simply a procrastination technique? To that, I plead guilty. =)
Hm. I hadn’t realized that you could do that. I’ll have to do the same myself. A lot of drama on LJ seems to be about whether you’re on someone’s list of “friends” or not. It’s a shame they picked a term laden with so much emotional freight.
Thanks for the tip!
