I’m having treacherous thoughts of leaving FFXI and picking up WoW. WoW seems much more plot oriented, and much less tedious. Plus it’s the hot new thing, and it’ll run on my Mac.
The downside would be that the mechanics of the game seem less intriguing, but I think I’m okay with that.
I’ve never looked back.
Seriously, there’s not been a single time where I thought “Man, I wish I was playing FFXI still.”
I miss my linkshell, but most of them moved to WoW anyway. (different server)

If you do, and you create an Alliance character, sign up on the Daggerspine server. You have friends there. 😉
If you consider a RP server, I’m on Alliance Silver Hand. The only time I miss FFXI is when I bump into some Japanese text and wish I was in better practice. FFXI taught me more Japanese than 2 years in CMU. 🙂
Oh, as a side note: I wasn’t impressed too much by WoW until I was in a group of guildmates and went through Deadmines, the first dungeon. It really blew me away.
