    1. Yeah, I’d be a bigger fan of the free market if our government were devoted to keeping the market a perfect match for an ideal free market: Busting up monopolies where reasonable, regulating them where not; Requiring full disclosure and sponsoring information provision measures; and most critically, internalizing externalities.

You’re right, it’s purely market driven, but I automatically looked to the environmental consequences, which are encouraging, even if incidental.

  1. LEDs are replacing lights in signs on the DC Metro because they are clearer, brighter, last longer and are much cheper than incandescent or flourescent bulbs. They are a huge improvement since the lighting can be very poor sometimes.

As for Ohio, I heard the protest on the radio, and naturally the Rep was not a centrist-Dem suburbanite, and Barbara Boxer of course. Woohoo, someone has balls around here.

By the way, lots of guys are now showing up on “cruising” websites and they all say things like “New to the Hill”, ie Republican. Usually no face pic…hmm. Bet they don’t work for the protesting Rep.
