I made enough to last awhile. =) Beets have an amazing property. The actual beets were probably the most insignificant ingredient by mass or volume, yet they were probably one of the more significant elements in terms of both color and flavor. Hmmm.

I think I should make a saturday morning habit out of cooking too goddam much food. (I realize it’s friday) and having that last me through the week. I could even bake my own bread and stuff. Now all I need is someone to do it with.

Today I went and lifted. What are those things, on my shoulders. Deltoids? I have discernable deltoids? Woo! (granted, this was while I was lifting with them) I then realized that today may very well be the last day I could see Spirited Away, without having to drag my ass far out of the way. So I interrupted my workout and watched it. Review to come later. Basically, it was as good, if not as powerfully moving, a film as Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke. Still, all 3 will be staple films in my [eventual] adopted daughter’s developmental years 😉

Off to food not bombs for lunch, then bookstores (for matlab book, and issue of community living mag) and the berkeley library, where I got a card. I think I’m going to rent some language tapes and bang my spanish into something resembling conversational level over the next few months. Necesito practicar si quiero aprendir, after all.

Back to the gym to finish up on the workout (after tasty late lunch digestion). 30 minutes on full body elliptical whatchamajigger, 460 calories, peak heart rate of 182. I wonder if I could be overdoing it.

Then home, (over)shopping, cooking: gluten/bok choy/oyster mushroom stir fry. Better done this time. Plans to make stew tomorrow.

Beholder-shaped mystery vegetable discovered and purchased. It was kohlrabi. =)

Chatty foo on gay.com. Losing interest in the medium. Yay for people being back in town. Want to invest time, rather than simply spending it. Sleep good.

Wedding

My little sister got hitched today. It was a civil ceremony. She was wearing pants and boots, with a cute tunic number. Joe wore his hoody over a nice black shirt etc. Tastefully understated. Then dinner out at Pasta Piatto. It was pretty cool. Very low key. Though I think I would prefer something more customized for myself. =)

I should post something interesting…

But I went to udipi, and ordered with eyes 8 times the size of my stomach. Fortunately, there were 4 other people there. Unfortunately, I think I had the largest stomach capacity. Or perhaps simply the most exploited one. Stuffed past the point of pain and into mild nausea is so, so, not recommended. Sometimes I’m a big dummyhead.

Let’s hear it for gluttony! <GROAN>
