Today I went and lifted. What are those things, on my shoulders. Deltoids? I have discernable deltoids? Woo! (granted, this was while I was lifting with them) I then realized that today may very well be the last day I could see Spirited Away, without having to drag my ass far out of the way. So I interrupted my workout and watched it. Review to come later. Basically, it was as good, if not as powerfully moving, a film as Nausicaa or Princess Mononoke. Still, all 3 will be staple films in my [eventual] adopted daughter’s developmental years 😉
Off to food not bombs for lunch, then bookstores (for matlab book, and issue of community living mag) and the berkeley library, where I got a card. I think I’m going to rent some language tapes and bang my spanish into something resembling conversational level over the next few months. Necesito practicar si quiero aprendir, after all.
Back to the gym to finish up on the workout (after tasty late lunch digestion). 30 minutes on full body elliptical whatchamajigger, 460 calories, peak heart rate of 182. I wonder if I could be overdoing it.
Then home, (over)shopping, cooking: gluten/bok choy/oyster mushroom stir fry. Better done this time. Plans to make stew tomorrow.
Beholder-shaped mystery vegetable discovered and purchased. It was kohlrabi. =)
Chatty foo on gay.com. Losing interest in the medium. Yay for people being back in town. Want to invest time, rather than simply spending it. Sleep good.
Miyazaki is the man. All children should be forced to look up Nausicaa’s flapping skirt during their formative years.
As for burning calories, I never stop until 1,000 (approx. 6 miles running), but I’ve come to learn that that’s what I require. You’re probably not overdoing it unless you still feel run down the day after.

I was actually going to suggest that, but I forgot to reply to the original entry. Kohlrabi is my favorite non-traditional vegetable.
Hey bud, long time no post/chat to you! Hope all is well for ya out on the coast! In response to:

Perhaps for your body type that is a tadbit much. Maybe 20 minutes and maybe decrease the heart rate a bit. Remember you don’t want to lose too much of your body fat, because then you put your body into a state of ketosis. Not a healthy state to be in. Otherwise, good luck to you!
