So, after sending out reply emails with our descriptions to the interested people from the ad that doesn’t talk about us being gay, I’m getting a way less than 50% response rate. And the ad that mentions that we’re homo is getting a vastly lower hit rate than the one that says next to nothing about us, and describes only the unit.
What the hell? It’s a discount room, in as homo & trendy a neighborhood as minneapolis seems to have, people should be swarming. Chicago/Bay area, how I miss thee. =)
You’re a homo?
Ew, I should find somewhere else.
…
The response rate is troubling, though. I wonder if there are any major forums we’re overlooking.
Ya know, I’d guess its related to the fact that almost every apartment building in Uptown (and a good number of them in other places) has a “Now Leasing” sign up. Or, if not that a “For Rent,” or perhaps a “Damnit! I’m hemorraging money!” sign.
Whee! I can spell!
“hemorrhage”
Don’t feel bad, I had to look it up too.
Indeed, there is quite the vacancy rate at present. We might have to sex up our description of the place to beat the competition.
sucks I don’t live in minneapolis heh 😛
If you could afford $400/month + utilities (not including heat), that could all change =) But seriously, I wouldn’t recommend it in your case =) Stay in the sane country.
I have a hunch that even in Chicago things might be a bit trickier. There is a glut of rental units available. Of course if your price is good – one would think you should get at least a few good solid pings.
In case I don’t see you guys, please check the bills on the fridge and divide accordingly (by four, i already have jennifer’s payment). I need this taken care of TODAY so I can pay them and remove my name from the accounts.
Thanks!
