So, saturday morning, I left to go running with the veggies. I got there late. I tried running with my backpack, which left some marks on my lower back, not unlike smaller versions of the trampoline marks from the spring. I also tried running the same direction they probably went. I only managed to keep up the run with the backpack for like 1/3 of the distance, or maybe a little over a mile. The weight wasn’t a problem, but the shifting, chafing, bouncing, etc, was a problem. The new shoes, btw, do indeed rock for running.
When I got home, the net didn’t work. I fiddled with my computer for a sec, determined it could see the router, but couldn’t see the outside world. I went down to check the cable modem, and it was gone. Not there. Missing. Yet the power adapter was still there. Ben was still asleep, the house had been locked while I was gone, and there was no sign of
Later in the day,
Sunday, I had to turn in my towel and locker membership foo at the university rec center, two weeks before my summer gym membership is replaced with my automatic grad studently gym membership. Oh, and the rec center is closed monday through friday this week for maintenance. That means busing over to the st paul campus (not _too_ inconvenient) to use the gym. Which sucks even more than the rec center does. *sigh*
Need to look into that ymca membership pronto.
Awww, I like the St. Paul Gym.
How could Ross be your 3rd roommate? Doesn’t he own his house? Hope the roommie search is going well.
Looooong story…
No kidding! Poor Ross, that is not a good situation.
It’s just tinier. And I was vastly disappointed by their ‘climbing wall’. More of a slender climbing panel, really. =)
Yes, but it’s usually much less crowded.
AT&T@Home (later sold to Comcast) gave me the option of buying my modem or leasing it from them for a monthly fee. This was almost four years ago in Champaign I still have the modem and, in fact, used it with my Comcast service in Mountain View.
Yeah, well, has me covered for now. I just wish whoever did it (I’m assuming no nefarious purposes for previously stated reasons) had left a freaking explanatory note.
Cable company came. They took modem. Former roommate set it up. I thought they were supposed to take the cable box. For the TV. Turns out they took the modem. I was there for all of two seconds.
Ah, well, that’s a mystery explained. Mildly annoying, but not seriously so. It’s not like I need to spend every waking hour online. =)
