Soon Brian and I will be departing the land of smelly plastics packaging plants for the lush fields of Uptown. We are looking for a third
So here’s the ad we will be posting in various locations:
Seeking a third for Uptown lower duplex
We are two laid back, mid twenties, university affiliated, politically progressive computer people.
We will be moving into a 3 Bedroom lower duplex in Uptown on September 1st. The available room will run $400/month which includes heat and water, but not electricity. It has coin op laundry in the basement. There is one off-street parking space available, and there’s plenty of on-street parking. Neither of us have cars at present. No smoking. We have one bunny, other pets negotiable. Upstairs duplex has cats and a dog.
Building is located at 31xx Dupont Ave S. This is a quiet residential neighborhood, easy walking distance to bus lines, including several to campus, numerous restaurants, a comic/used sci fi store, a grocery store, a gaming store, two movie theatres, and a large commercial district including Calhoun Square.
We are looking for a roommate for September 1st, so please get back to us quickly, and let us know a bit about yourself.
i’d be interested…
…except i dont have that sort of money nor live ANYWHERE near you…
😉 There are a great many people I’d want to live with, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to live with all of them at once. I’d never get anything done. There are plenty of good people in Austin, though. =)
omg $400 and in a decent neighborhood? the bay area has me jaded.
Well, the le roy place, which was much snazzier, was a little more than half again as much per person, not including utils. The 66th st place was exactly half again as much per person. The rent drop wasn’t quite as much as I’d hoped/expected, but it is quite welcome, nonetheless.
And this is fewer people than I lived with in oakland or berkeley.
Awesome
Thats a great area to live
Re: Awesome
I am looking forward to it, even if I wish we were closer to a busline. =)
holy $400 for a good neighborhood? i’m jealous! $500 barely gets you 1 room in a crack shack in boston.
Yes, but note boston … minneapolis. Hmmmm. =)
Whine to me about rent in january, and I’ll tell you how many layers I’m wearing in my own house. =)
MID-Twenties?
aren’t you LATE twenties?
I thought it was long enough without breaking Brian and I out separately. In an earlier revision, it was a mid twenties blah blah blah, and a late twenties, blah, blah, blah. Seemed excessively verbose. =)
I’ve discovered that everything is just easier if we humor Stephen’s clinging to his fading youth. 😀
(says the man with more grey hairs then he)
Greetings! I just noticed you added me to your friends list, so I thought I’d check you out. You’re moving into a nice neighborhood. Until I moved near the Stone Arch Bridge, I lived at 31xx Bryant. You’ll get the convenience without the noise (Bryant is a heavy bus/traffic street) and the idiocy from the park (cars being vandalized, people being bastards, etc.).
Good luck with the roommate situation!
Good to hear our judgement was sound, and thanks for the wellwishing. =)
