Did the parallel bars for the first time ever on monday. Just shoulder swings (supporting yourself on the bars with the hands and upper arms, arms roughly parallel to the bar, as opposed to the more advanced ones, where you support yourself with your hands only, and they’re perpendicular to the bar), and some dips. Well, the shoulder swings had some consequences, detailed in the following pics.

You gymnastically experienced types, is this normal? Am I fucking something up? Or is there just something that toughens up as I keep doing this stuff?
Yep, bruises are common. You’ll toughen up.
Just wait until the calluses form on you hands and rip off while practicing.
I’d suggest filing them down before that happens.
for the three years i was a gymnast i moved from one injury to another. my leg, my lower back, my knee, a blister on my hand, toes, arms, etc.. it just never ended.
