CA is so weird to one used to the midwest. Green in winter, and brown in summer. Go fig.
I also tried to stick to the golden ratio on these pictures, and I think it did actually enhance the pictures.
(contrast these to my earlier (much browner) pics from the same spot).

Me looking like a big dork

A little waterway at the start (typically the end) of the three bears

Views from the Three Bears

There was frost in the hills. And our heater was broken at the time. Fun, fun, fun. =)

More three bears stuff

There’s this really cool looking school in the woods. I finally got around to taking a picture of it (though not the nearby post office, which looks similarly cool).

It got darker than on any similar ride I’ve taken

At the peak, on the way down home

I loved the pictures! As usual, my favorites involved water. Of course, the ones with you in them weren’t half bad either. =)
hawtt new icon and pics 🙂 so where are these three bears anyway? and are they in fact overweight and hairy?
i rode by that canyon school once. that is one cold, dark canyon.
If by “overweight” you mean “big” and “hairy” you mean “covered in vegetation”, then, yes, yes they are. =)
They are largely on the eastern side of the briones reservoir, or maybe the san pablo reservoir, which ever is more to the east.
I like the trees in the canyon school area. They’re big, and screen out the sun, and there’s much undergrowth. Feels like the forests next to where I grew up. =)
Great pictures! My favorites are from_papa & the_bears (I like how the road leads your eyes into the picture), from_papa2 (the lens flare is a good thing), and scu_on_grizzly.
Another cool thing about from_papa is that the focal point, the dark trees at the end of the left lane, is almost exactly at the corner of the next-smallest square corresponding to the golden ratio (213×213 pixels in from the upper left corner, in a 563×350 image).
I like #8 the best. Hill contours and sunlight.
Marvelous! Grandiose! Stunning!
🙂
