I’m going to check out the berkeley jobsmart career center thing. I think this may be more of an “I’m homeless and need help getting a job at the corner store” kind of establishment, but at worst I will waste a little time, and I’ve certainly done plenty of that already. Then I will go to the library, and, as many ‘take control of your job hunt’ guides recommend, check out local listings for businesses that please me. Specifically it consulting type firms. Who knows, it might even work. =)
I feel like the worst part of job hunting is that when it comes right down to it, “taking control” isn’t really possible. The ultimate decision is always with someone else. In the end, so much of it is just dumb luck. Everything has to come together just right.
