Bah and Humbug.

Okay, setting aside world peace, financial stability, satisfying work, meeting one of those great guys in the right place at the right time, spending more time with friends and family, travel to favored places, and the superpowers I’ve always wanted…

  • Nausicaa DVD
  • Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne

    • Nausicaa manga: 2 & up.
    • Sandman: The Dolls House
    • Sandman: Dream Country
    • Sandman: A Game of You
    • Books of Magic (the original one)
    • Books of Magic: Bindings
    • Books of Magic: Summonings
    • Books of Magic: Reckonings
    • Death: The High Cost of Living
    • Death: The Time of Your Life

I dunno, the list doesn’t excite me the way it used to. Much of the list seems pretty frivilous and ridiculous to me. I think I valued christmas so much as a kid because it was a time to show you cared, and a time to show you understood what mattered to the people who mattered to you. But I think the only significant item on my holiday wishlist at the moment, is a sign that I matter to someone. And maybe the feeling that someone matters to me. I’m expecting a very lonely holiday, you see. Though not my first of those.

It’s ironic, given this sentiment, that the exchange of [pre-fab] greeting cards annoys me. Shopping for a symbol of love seems wrong. Symbols of love ought to come from one’s heart, not a factory in topeka or taiwan.

But, those of you showing your love this way, don’t let me rain on your parade. Better to show love than to not, and I have no plans to do even that.

Wow, this is a really down entry.
