So, I ended up playing around with my camera last night. More pics resulted. Also got one of Ro. Think I’m doing better with the gimping of photos, particularly on the color front. I offer the following pic of Ro as an example, in the first I controlled the color of ro and the background separately with brightness/contrast adjustments. In the second, I simply manipulated the color curve to consolidate brighter colors, increase contrast on darker ones, and generally brighten the pic. I like the latter pic much better:

Took some alternate pictures of me:

From the bike ride the following morning
A Panorama from Inspiration Point, doesn’t do the vista justice, but still cool.

Views along Pinehurst, I especially like the foresty bits. Reminds me of the place we lived in perry county.

I vote for d.
yeah. either d or a. e is just silly, and f is impressive, but also just silly.
…cute pics.
I say c or d – although e is just so :you:
🙂
I second inqueery’s motion.
My faves are A and D, in that order. Nice photos, all ’round, though!
Definitely D.
I enjoyed the bike ride ones too. 🙂
I like D, but A is cool, too, even though you look mad at me. And I just about spooged over the outdoor pictures. Nice!
Yeah, it wasn’t ‘mad’ I was going for so much as ‘intent’.
Do you have similarly scenic areas to bike through, far away from other people?
I did in western Massachusetts. There are some fairly isolated greenbelt areas in Austin, but not many, and the isolation is really more of an illusion than a reality.
A or D. 😛
I guess I’ll vote for A, too. However, the combination of the hoodie and your stare makes you seem thuggish, which we know to be untrue. Also, I think you need a hint of color in your clothing. 😉
If grey is good enough for Gandalf… =)
So, are you going to actually come up to berkeley and contact me one of these days? =P
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
feaux toes
i vote for e and f. and now for my favourite question: what kind of camera/media?
i’ve also recently learned about curves, paying attention to histograms, and adjusting photos. i’ve gotten very good results. in the analog/dead-trees world i take stuff like that for granted. i turn dials, use different chemicals, and use trial-and-error to adjust my images. i aspire to never learn how to dodge and burn.
Re: feaux toes
Oh, it’s a camedia D-340R. It uses a serial interface, this thing is several years old. My guess is like 4 or 5.
My dad developed photos, in his bathroom at one place, and in the basement at another. Sounds like it’d be rather difficult. =)
I like b or c the best. They make you look thoughtful, which is how I always thought of you.
i like b or c, since you’re looking at the camera. i prefer portraits when you can see a person’s full face
Uhm… Ro… did he ever go to UT Austin? Like 3 or 4 years ago? Did his sister have anything to do with the Darwin Fish?
please let me know.

Small world, why do you ask? =)
Re: Hole in one
Dude… can you ask if you can pass on his contact info to me? I… kind of owe hima HUGE apology and I’ve tried to contact him a few times to tender it. But we fell out of touch and I moved and he moved and… well at any rate. Yeah.
