Pictures

So, I ended up playing around with my camera last night. More pics resulted. Also got one of Ro. Think I’m doing better with the gimping of photos, particularly on the color front. I offer the following pic of Ro as an example, in the first I controlled the color of ro and the background separately with brightness/contrast adjustments. In the second, I simply manipulated the color curve to consolidate brighter colors, increase contrast on darker ones, and generally brighten the pic. I like the latter pic much better:

Took some alternate pictures of me:

A Panorama from Inspiration Point, doesn’t do the vista justice, but still cool.

Views along Pinehurst, I especially like the foresty bits. Reminds me of the place we lived in perry county.

  1. I guess I’ll vote for A, too. However, the combination of the hoodie and your stare makes you seem thuggish, which we know to be untrue. Also, I think you need a hint of color in your clothing. 😉

i vote for e and f. and now for my favourite question: what kind of camera/media?

i’ve also recently learned about curves, paying attention to histograms, and adjusting photos. i’ve gotten very good results. in the analog/dead-trees world i take stuff like that for granted. i turn dials, use different chemicals, and use trial-and-error to adjust my images. i aspire to never learn how to dodge and burn.

Oh, it’s a camedia D-340R. It uses a serial interface, this thing is several years old. My guess is like 4 or 5.

My dad developed photos, in his bathroom at one place, and in the basement at another. Sounds like it’d be rather difficult. =)

Dude… can you ask if you can pass on his contact info to me? I… kind of owe hima HUGE apology and I’ve tried to contact him a few times to tender it. But we fell out of touch and I moved and he moved and… well at any rate. Yeah.
