Soymilk blended with strawberries & (real/100% pure) maple syrup, very tasty, better than strawberry quik. =)
Soy mayonnaise (nayonnaise, specifically) is a good substitute for eggs in cookies/muffins, etc. Better than applesauce, or the flaxseed plan.
I’ll have to take your word for it. I have no intention of trying this. 😉
One of the lessons a vegan cook quickly learns is that substitutions do not lead to pain, suffering, or the decline of western civilization.
In fact, I would recommend the cow milk + strawberries + maple syrup + blender, and plain mayo instead of eggs, to those inclined to experiment. I suspect it would also be tasty.
I don’t really drink cow milk either. I used to drink rice milk as a substitute. But, I switched to goat milk for my protein shakes because it’s obviously higher in protein and has less sugar.
It may be better than soymilk quik, but the problem lies in the soymilk not the quik. Ick.
Well, almost anything would taste better than Strawberry Quik, but yeah that does sound kind of yummy. Of course I like the taste of spirulina so my taste buds are already suspect.
Do you use maple syrup because you avoid honey? It’s not actually produced inside the bees, so my take is that it doesn’t count as an animal product.
Does Nayonnaise get yucky and liquid after just two weeks in the fridge? I’ve tried Vegenaise and it’s fine when I open the jar but it goes bad really quickly.
Nayonnaise retains a mayo-like texture for a long time. I recently inherited an accidently frozen jar of veganaise. Upon thawing, it separated. I attributed that to the freeze/thaw. Happens anyway, eh?
I use maple syrup in part because it’s more liquid. Honey has a tendency to stick to the blender blades. I tend to avoid honey overall, but am far from scrupulous about it. =)
