After talk regarding Myers Briggs PTI stuff, and ideal matches at the party last night, I did a little websearching and came up with a webpage that describes how relationships work for me with impressive accuracy. I pointed the webpage (and its attendant INTJ counterpart) to
[11/20/2002 00:35] maxwellseq: The INTJ is not likely to choose to spend time with people who they feel don’t have anything to offer the INTJ.
[11/20/2002 00:35] maxwellseq: wow
[11/20/2002 00:35] maxwellseq: no more perfect summary exists
simon is so right
Reading through this site for my own ‘type’ is a catalog of hits and misses. This is so just like astrology.
Actually, I take that back….a more concise summary:
INTJs don’t waste time on meaningless relationships
or, more positively put,
INTJs prefer meaningful relationships
so damn true.
ENTP
It sounded surprisingly accurate to someone who thinks Meyers-Briggs is a pile of crap.
However, perhaps Myers-Briggs “Your personality type is like X in relationships” are kinda like horoscopes, in that they say things which either trigger a “Yes thats me!” or trigger no response at all, rather then things which trigger a “No, definitely not me” response.
Hey, am I the only straight one here?
There are straight people on livejournal. Even ones that post in mine from time to time. Generally on the creme de la creme of your kind. I regard you as a credit to your sexuality 😉
thanks
I just found it amusing that you guys were all like “bla bla bla relationships bla bla bla” and then I was all like “bla bla bla, relationships, bla bla bla” and it all made sense and seemed relevant and all. And I guess this shouldn’t really come as a surprise, or a “wow thats funny!” to me, but, you know, it does, in the “Wait, everyone else in this big conversation about relationships could date each-other” Well, I guess that doesn’t make much sense, we could all date each-other, but “would date each-other” doesn’t make much sense either, as I’m sure some of you find some of the others to be in the “not if he’s the last man on earth!” category.
Yeah, so, anyway, it amused me for no particularly good reason.
probably i took particular notice this time, because, come on, “versace dave”
and I always read “innsmouth” as “in his mouth”. I’m not sure if its intended to be read that way.
the funny thing is, my best friend (straight female, who would have thought?) gave me that name when i said i wanted to have an online name that rolled off the tongue, was easy to remember, and EXPLICITLY gay without using words like gay, homo, fag, or fl amer. guess it worked. 🙂
funny thing part two: i hate versace clothes. they are ugly and overpriced.
i also read “innsmouth” the same way you do.+a
Oh dear lord, can I change my LJ name??
Here’s the true story behind Innsmouth:
Back in May, Stephen and Aaron visited me and insisted I start a LJ. At first I was against the idea, but I was writing my masters thesis and needed a distraction. When i got the free code from aaron, I looked around for a name. Since I wasn’t planning on keeping the LJ for long, I didn’t take the search seriously. My advisor has an H.P. Lovecraft fetish, even going so far as to name ALL of our research machines after the novels. My machine was Innsmouth, which is supposedly some town in one of the novels. *sigh*
You boys have sick mind….SICK!
Re: Oh dear platypuslord, can I change my LJ name??
No, I think we all know who has the sick mind.
And that would be H P Lovecraft.
What kind of a pen-name is that, anyway?
Re: Oh dear lord, can I change my LJ name??
ha ha. after i realized your name wasn’t pronounced “in his mouth,” i thought it was probably a city in the uk (i was kind of on the right track). it was too late by then though: it was already stuck in my head as the dirty version. cute story, but i’m still going to pronounce it wrong! 🙂
Re: Oh dear lord, can I change my LJ name??
Ya know, they have a little FAQ link over there for a reason 😉

definitely a horoscope
The page also says I should become a lawyer.
Oddly the INTP page matched me better academically, though parts of the ENTP page matched my personal life.
If I took it seriously, I’d consider trying out this lawyering thing, but I can’t imagine being good at it.

Yo. (= I tested as an INTJ my freshman year at CMU, but I’m probably more of an INTP now. Relationship-description-wise, I can’t find any glaring contradictions, but I did find a couple revelations. Now if I can just convince Mandy to take the test…
mjw??
You’re not miller jenuine wallace by any chance, are you?
Re: mjw??
Miller jenuine?
Perhaps. (=
How you doin’?
