credit card debt

Is now down below $1,000 for the first time in many years. If it’s not gone by next paycheck (two weeks) that’ll be because I prepurchased flights for all summer to lock in low prices and it’ll be gone by the payday after.

w00t, I say, w00t.

  1. congrats!

when I got laid off, I was really glad we’d gotten rid of our credit card debt the year before. It made things a lot less stressful.

  2. congrats!

Any idea how common it is to carry a balance? I’m really at a loss, because it’s not exactly a topic for discussion.

      1. wow, if I were to trust the article, that’s insane.

“A typical American family today pays about $1,200 annually in credit card interest.”

  3. Good for you! It’s a big load off your mind, isn’t it?

I still have debt, but it’s the payoff of the 2nd mortgage and as it’s at 3% interest I’m happy to carry it and pay other things off first. 🙂

  4. And in the spirit of w00t (wonderful loot), this means you can go on a shopping spree! Woo, use that credit! Stimulate the economy with debt! It’s your duty as a patriotic American!

    1. Buy Chinese goods so that China can buy Treasuries so that we can issue debt so that we can reduce taxes so that you can buy more Chinese goods!

Getting out of credit card debt is so unamerican.
