My 4th of july plans may involve me heading off southern illinois for quality extended family time. Which always brings up the question of how to get there. I’m thinking if I can find a friendly st louis local to hang out with for a bit I could take a chicago to st louis red eye, then rent a car to get to grand chain. Perhaps this crazy.
Rent a fuel-efficient car and drive for 5.5 hours?
price is a bit more, and driving for that long is booooring.

Too bad there isn’t a Chicago to Paducah route… because the Paducah to Grand Chain transportations run often between all the family members hanging around.
Speaking of… I’m in Grand Chain right now about to head back to Paducah…
Well, there is a chicago to paducah route in greyhound, it just involves going through St Louis. =)
