- A very good first date on monday (yay for federal holidays)
- Tuesday morning CPR and AED training,
- Tuesday evening at kmanista and tyedie‘s apt where I hid in a pile of blankets while feeling unwell. I recovered
after everyone left and ate half the cookies. - Wednesday union meeting where I volunteered, over objections, to herd the cats for the constitution the interim council is supposed to be writing (you know, the central task for the interim council).
- Wednesday evening board games, where I taught Phoenicia (this is my second time playing the game, and my first since September).
- Thursday, running the last weekly status update on my current project.
- Thursday evening, got back home just in time to pick up my Cowon D2 from the UPS store before they closed. Ran Heroic Slave Pens with the guildies.
- Friday spending hours wrangling a data analysis which produces numbers with variations in the third significant figure.
- Friday evening, spending hours discussing organizing the queers from the local UU church and things we’d like to do, including networking with queers from other groups. Chat with one of the ‘mos from the group for a bit back at his place.
- Saturday afternoon, run Karazhan with guild, skipping animal boss, but taking down Attumen, Moroes, Maiden, Opera (Oz) and the Curator. Significantly outperformed by non-guild raid members.
- Saturday evening, board games with Dean, Dean, moved, Johnny, Spencer, Josh and Eric. (We played Citadels, Thurn and Taxis, Race for the Galaxy (twice), family guy themed Uno(?) and Blokus).
I still have to get some data analysis specification documents and an agenda for the constitution people done before tomorrow.
Plans for today.
- gym
- Church, including discussion with a very involved church member about my experiences at 2U.
- Maybe WoW time? (probably not. There was discussion of finishing up Karazhan, but I think we’ll lack a critical mass, and I have too much else to do.)
- Cooking food for the upcoming week
- board games in the evening with Spencer/Pitt/Paul/Tres, maybe?
You know three people named “Dean”?
I really enjoyed Race For The Galaxy and Citadels was pretty fun too.
Yes, it was “Family Guy” themed Uno. Each themed Uno includes an (optional) variation of the rules in the form of a special card. In this case, it was a “Domination” card featuring Baby Stewy. This card could be played on a Draw (2 or 4) card to cancel having to draw and also functioned as a Wild card.
I enjoyed Thurn and Taxis. I admit I was completely bewildered throughout 90% of the explanation, but (as I do with most games) I picked it up as we played. Race for Galaxy was fun too, but it takes awhile for me to get into the groove of that game. I kept getting bad cards and by the time I got some good stuff the game was over.
