The firewall function was blocking my DHCP. Only way around it? Disable the firewall. Microsoft, you are truly a class act. How have you come to dominate the market?
This was after I had to delete a random, registry key to allow a re-installation of WoW.
Lovely, truly lovely.
A former windows LIVE progreammer made note that the security on windows is so strong, it doesn’t allow anything, and the only way to get anything to work, is to disable security.
What Windows?
I wonder because I haven’t had this problem, but would like to know under what circumstances I might run into it.
Vista.
Ah, yes, there’s your problem right there.
I have that on several computers now.
Is this a DHCP server running on the Vista box?
is this vista you speak of?
sadly, yes.
32 bit vista for my 64 bit processor. Don’t get me started on gateway.
I simply ask one question: Why Windows?
