this week

Saw the Petraeus testimony, was interesting to see how many protesters it drew. I don’t believe that’s typical. day to day life is same ol same ol. Heading out to DC on Friday. I should check with my sister, haven’t seen her much lately.

There is a war protest in DC on Saturday before ‘s bday party. I’ll probably attend part of it. I should get back from DC in time for board gaming with Tre, Spencer et al on Sunday. (though, given my luck with National-> chicago flights… maybe not).

Still need to figure out who I’m staying with Friday. Should do that soon…

  1. I am pretty anti-war, but I think 9/11 is an inappropriate day to protest the war. I realize it draws the most attention at that time, but I think it’s important to be respectful for the people who died on that day and really think about how what we do in the world influences what happens to us, rather than running around waving our banners, blindly.

    1. 1) The protesters I was speaking of were actually on Monday the 10th.

      2) I can think of no more appropriate day to protest the misappropriation of any tragedy than its anniversary. Is it respectful of their memory to let people blather on uncorrected about how we’re honoring their memory by waging a war of aggression against an unrelated target?

Unfortunately, & I are heading out of town this weekend. We’d made arrangements to head to Ohio. I’m really sorry we couldn’t meet this weekend.
