I saw Knocked Up on Friday. It’s a great date movie for the slacker set, and for the overachiever set. If only the date had gone as well. It’s got my #1 most important feature in a movie: it showcases personal growth. Adorkable slacker pothead and overachieving hotty girl hook up while mutually wasted. Condom miscommunication ensues, pregnancy results. The rest is the social interactions around that whole story. It’s overall good stuff.
On Sunday, I watched Paprika with
So I’ve seen trailers for the movie Knocked-Up on t.v. a few times, and I have a pretty bad impression of the movie so far. Though I am curious, since you’ve seen the movie, how did it address the idea of abortion, if it did at all? Also, the whole drunken sex part, was there any discussion around consent that came out of that? I’m probably expecting too much out of a hollywood movie, but I am somewhat curious.
Abortion, both main characters received pro-abortion advice. She from her mother, he from … i don’t remember who. Both were roundly against said advice. The date rape aspect was never addressed. The morning after regret angle was covered, thought not terribly thoroughly.
Adorkable heh. Cute word, very appropriate for people we know 🙂
Also, sounds like something you could do to someone…
Both of these sounds like movies I’d want to see! Hmm… I wonder if I can download Paprika.
It’s pretty new here, but worth a shot.
