I’m thinking of going for a Chicago area CSA. But it sounds like these things are a lot of food. I’d need a Cooking buddy. A gym buddy would be nice too.

CSA ?= community support agriculture?
We totally subscribed to a santa cruz one this year.
We actually find we have to supplement it (both in terms of spices and protein sources, and rice and pasta for more body). Also, you may find that “whats in season at a particular time of year in your area” can be quite boring, depending on your taste (although pretty much anything is good pan-fried* with tofu — and tomato is not the only plant that can be turned into a pasta topping if properly prepared).
Anyway, I think I could eat this whole box in a week.
*i.e. fried on the outside, crispy and raw on the inside — really great for brocolli, but cabbage is good that way too — I’m guessing anything from the brassica family would work this way.
Yeah, I totally didn’t expect the CSA to cover all my food needs. I’m just afraid I would let the veggies rot and continue to eat out. Hence the need for a cooking buddy. Or just someone to eat my food. =)
