12 oz soft tofu, crumbled
2/3 C frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
3 T vegetable oil
1 t vanilla extract
1/2 t salt
1 C sugar
1/2 C unbleached white flour
1 t baking powder
1/4 t baking soda
2 T grated orange rind
1: In a blender, combine the tofu, juice, 2 tablespoons of the oil, vanilla, and salt, and mix until creamy.
2: in a mixing bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
3: Slowly add this mixture to the contents of the blender, and mix until smooth.
4: put the mixture into a well-oiled and floured 9 1/2 inch pan, and bake at 400F for about 30 minutes.
5: slice with a sharp , wet knife to serve. Garnish with g rated orange rind.
I bet you could also top it with some toasted slivered almonds and then it would be orange almond.
For a minute, I didn’t know what a g rated orange rind was. Then I went to the Disney store and found it. This recipe sounds more like it produces a cake than flan – what is the final consistency of the finished product?

If you invent one, be sure to put it on

hmmmmm…..I would think it would be really hard to make a vegan custard, or made out of things that I wouldn’t find particularly tasty.
soft tofu is perfect for this and not as gross as it sounds. tofu custard is getting big in nyc.
ah, yea, I am SO not a fan of tofu in any soft form.
I’m in a twisted mood this morning. When I read your request my chaotically evil brain thought it would be cool to combine the following:
1 vegan
1 blender
1 bag of oranges
1 bottle of triple sec
1 bottle of cointreau
1 bag of sliced almonds
1 flan
