Interestingly, there’s a bill in committee for banning the collection of genetic information by employers and insurers.

  1. I agree with anything to prevent that.

    We’re at a point where employers are firing people who fail tests to see if they smoke cigarettes, because it’s a way to bring down their insurance expenses. There’s no such thing as privacy.

    Insurance companies will fight tooth and nail to prevent that, and Republicans will sympathize with their position, and say that allowing them to do that later will bring down costs for low-risk (genetically superior) insurees.

    Ugh. Too early for me to be angry. Couldn’t you have posted this after 3? lol
