How annoying I find writing a personals ad? Conveying oneself accurately, entertainingly, and engagingly is a pain. Gimme advice.
Getting a word in edgewise

It’s a fact that people are horrible at self evaluation. Get someone you know and trust to write it for you. Then again, if you knew someone like that, would you be writing a personal in the first place?
Here, use mine
Just change some of the words… 🙂

Just point them to your LiveJournal(TM).
None. Mine have all sucked… But I was told mine wasn’t sexual enough…lol Ugh… =)
Good luck hon. =)
From personal experience, make sure you specify age limits in your ad…
my sister cut one out of the paper one time and put it on the fridge at my parents house…
SWM, middle aged, no redeeming
qualities whatsoever, ISO, SWF,
prefer tall, blonde and in twenties….
my ONE experience with a personal ad …
I belong to one of those “visit web sites and get points, redeem them for valuable crap!” thingies. They had a “join this dating service for FREE, get 500 points!” so I figured, ok, wtf, who knows, right?
I basically said something like, “Short, fat, insane broad in late 30s seeks male.”
I got three responses. Two were from married guys [even though i’d said, no married guys, in the options ‘n’ at] and one said, “you shouldn’t think you’re fat. my ex-wife was huge, she weighed 180 lbs!!”
In retrospect, what I SHOULD have put is, “Short, fat, domineering bitch seeks the scummy worm you are. Respond or I’ll find you and you’ll be sorry!”
I wouldn’t have found “someone” but it probably would have been amusing!
Anyway, Stevie, the coolest ad I ever ever saw was in the days when all the newspapers had pages and pages of ads. Someone did one where every word was in alphabetical order. It was eyecatching.
