finally finished ffx

It got to the point where things were getting tedious. I killed the final boss with one staff hit from Yuna, one of the casters of the party (but the one I’d focused on leveling). Enh.

Didn’t do everything, but the stuff I didn’t do was mostly really tedious.

One set of clear objectives out the window…

  1. One of the joys – and problems – of Final Fantasy is that the optional stuff isn’t optional. Hell, they throw in the Omega Dungeon because the stuff at the end of the game sure as hell isn’t going to challenge you if you’ve started picking up final weapons and unlocking the really nice stuff on the sphere grid.

I’m still sad they made Lulu basically useless.

  2. I loved that game story-line wise. But the final Boss!?! WTF?

Yu Yevon was just TOO easy.

I bought the FFX Official Guide and used it to complete the game for a second time and did all the optional stuff. Seriously, there are some items that you just CANNOT get without using the guide unless you’re the luckiest person in…well, let’s say…the universe!

I still miss the characters. I suppose it’s wierd to miss video game characters. I had the BIGGEST crush on Wakka.

  3. I have mixed feelings about how powerful I can make my character get in some RPGs. Morrowind was the epitome of that for me. While it was a lot of fun making my character hugely powerful, the fights got to be absurd.
