I forgot my entry badge at the downtown chicago office. That means instead of my originally planned 1pm departure, I’ll be getting on a plane scheduled for 6pm, meaning i may finally arrive in DC tomorrow morning, if this works out like every other o’hare => national flight I’ve taken.
Chicago
I am curious if you find Illinois any different from Minnesota as far as people go and things to do and see. Of course Chicago is far bigger in size and all but before I had left St. Paul and moved to Los Angeles Chicago was the place I was supposed to move to. My friend diverted me through a vacation to LA and I changed my mind. hmmm wondering if I miss the cold winters and snow……..
Re: Chicago
Well, chicago is much larger and has much better railed public transportation (and much worse/much less reliable bus service). Much cheaper air fare too.
I can’t say I got to know that much of Minnesota. Aside from and the Humphrey people I didn’t spend all that much time with much of anyone there.
But, with the bigger city and the better mobility, I think there probably is more to do and see. I’m more interested in the people in town. Chicago is more metropolitan, more urban, but still definitely midwestern, culturally speaking. In my opinion. =)
I prefer chicago because it has a larger base of possibility to draw from. If that makes any sense at all.
Re: Chicago
I like that airfare deal since your are now in a hub city with people flying in from all over on their way to all parts of the country and world for that matter.
I agree with your last sentence because I think you are exactly right as this city (Los Angeles) did for me as well, without the midwestern feel which I miss, is that it has a larger base of possibility to draw from. Good Answer!
