Actually, this is likely a challenge to the webwatcher subscribers rather than the tech subscribers, but, whatever.
I have casually looked for and not found a podcast recommendation site which makes recommendations based on your musical tastes. “do you like song X? radio station Y? Then maybe you want to check out podcast Z.” But, of course, make it dynamic, and participatory, and all that stuff, with a huge list of podcasts. Thoughts?
I’ve never even downloaded a podcast! :O How untechie of me!!
Well, I’m sure that’s at least partially because radio stations vary so much from place to place. I always recommend “Morning Becomes Eclectic” for people. I listened to it on the radio when I lived in LA–every day on my way to work! Also, they had Boy Least Likely To on a recent show 🙂
I dunno, places like amazon can’t even get recommendations working usefully. This sounds a lot tougher.
I’ll give you recommendations if you post hot pics of yourself. hi-YAH!
I’ve just been getting into the podcasting thing myself.. I’ve been using last.fm lately to get music recommendations based on songs and bands I like and have been pretty pleased with the results.. However short of a few podcast groups, there’s nothing for podcast recommendations.. Maybe they’ll take suggestions for future expansion….
http://www.pandora.com
it asks you to provide a song or artist you like, then picks songs based onlike 100 or so qualities of the song/artist. as songs play you can say it’s something you like or don’t like as so pandora refines your preferences.
i love this sit. it plays some great stuff for me – groups i may have never otherwise heard of.
hope this helps!
