Coincidentally, a friend of mine’s sister is holding a climb-for-lymphoma thing on my birthday, April 15th. I’ve done the athletic-activity-for-medical-condition gig before, and I generally enjoy it. I like spending time with socially conscious people and I like doing athletic things. Even if I think linking the two like that is absurd.
But anyway, anyone want to join me?
And who’s throwing my surprise birthday party, anyway? I need to get you an invite list. =)
Eek!
Who *is* throwing your surprise party? I need to be invited too.
Re: Eek!
It seems whoever they are will be following protocol and not tell me about it. Yay for imaginary friends. 😉
Maybe I could leave the list with you, and if you happen to run across such an organizer….
::grumble::
Um, I was aiming for that perfect line between supportive friend and disinterested passer-by.
Maybe you should just bite the bullet, accept that you’re getting old, and throw your own darn fete. 😉
Re: ::grumble::
Yeah, I wasn’t seriously expecting you (or anyone else) to nibble on that particular piece of fruit. It was intended more for humor value.
Though it would genuinely be nice to have someone throw me a surprise party, it really does take a much more connected social network than I have to pull something like that off. The fact that I’d have to construct a list points to this very problem. All my past birthday parties since I moved off to school have been self-organized. =)
Perhaps that’s why I haven’t really had one for a few years. =)
Is it at VE? Is the climbing the party? [confused]
The fundraising/climbing event is at Vertical Endeavors. If you like, I can pass the evite along.
The climbing is not the party. The person putting it on has never met me. The surprise birthday party is more a little fantasy I’ve had for a few years now that someone actually would surprise me with a birthday party. I ain’t holding my breath. =)
that’s a week before my birthday! you gonna go out afterwards and get retarted?
