but basically… this is nothing new, nothing surprising… i guess compared to other schools stuy was pretty liberal when i went there too?
there was a quote from the gothamist guy, jake (who was my year), where he said when he was in stuy he certainly didn’t see any lesbian kissing.
i mentioned this to someone, who said “what? when we were there? i was personally involved in some lesbian kissing in the hallways!”
but actually, given this, and given that you went elsewhere, and also given that this article is hyping up something..
what was it like for _you_ in high school?
one of my stuy teachers said “the reason geeks go to stuy is so that they don’t get beat up” 😉
High school was nothing like this for me. I think there was some het sex going on in secret, but a) I was oblivious to my surroundings, too caught up in internal conflict b) I was not well liked (which I came to appreciate the benefits of, even if I never fully made peace with it) and c) it was catholic school.
