Reading it makes my eyes hurt. Whoever coined the term needs to be taken out back and shot. First I thought you made a typo, then I thought you were cosplaying as a half-fish.
I’ve heard gaymer used to reference people who are primarily pc gamers. Me, in particular. So, I guess so. =) I don’t think it’s a word that webster’s has taken a position on.
This is the first time I’ve come across the term, but “gaymer” is really pathetic sounding, even more so than “azn”.

gaymers are gamers who are gay. =) gayming doesn’t so much mean anything.
All the stuff on gaymer search results specifically reference console games. Is that just a coincidence?

I was initially thinking 10-20 years for the first one, then I realized, no it really has been more than 2 decades.
