Getting a word in edgewise

I vote PANTS!
Would those be cotton pants, wool pants, radiant pants, or scale cuises? =)
Crimson Cuisses for the win!
12% movement speed…. mmm… {Yes, please}
Screw pants. {Bronze Subligar} {Do you have it?}
It’s all about the Vir/Femina Subligar or the subligars from the Lvl 50 Phonumia Aqueduct quest. Have you SEEN them? The female ones look like panties and the male ones uh… look like female panties. Tarus wearing them look disturbingly like diaper clad children. Somewhere, a fetishist’s darkest dream have been realized….
zomg I want those!!!
Me and another LS RDM are next in line to get the red pants if/when they drop from Kirin. I kinda want them, but they would pretty much just be a vanity piece, useful really only for running fast. My RDM AF2 pants are much better for a party setting. But hot pants!
Me wants them too. ;_;
I think I’m #3 after some paladins, but Kirin hasn’t dropped any in months. They’re more than just vanity–there’s a whole category of omgwtf NMs that RDMs can solo using DoT kiting once they have those cuisses. If you’ve ever heard the name “Morathi of Leviathan”, s/he’s done Amikiri, Ungur, Guivre, Gration, etc. all solo using them. O_o;
That’s very true. The cuisses are a necessity for any serious RDM soloer. I guess I just never gave them much thought because I’m not really big on soloing HNMs.
Have you ever seen the video of the one RDM who attempted to solo Genbu? He/she had the hot pants on, I believe. Of course, from what I read, that person gave up after it took him 3 hours to get Genbu to 50%. Apparently it’s possible – you just need a bladder catheter. ^^
Dude, I’m still dreaming of the Rogue’s Cullote. =)
That’s the Oztroja coffer piece for you, right? Yer so lucky that A) Astral Rings are no longer found in Oztroja, thereby saving you the nightmare of competing against THF bots camping the coffer spawn sites and B) You’re a THF and can just pick the coffers. Oztroja coffer key hunts were always one of the more ornery ones, I thought.
Next step… the Assassin’s Cullote! (THF AF2)
i love final fantasy, but didn’t care for 10-2 or whatever with the morphing and the girl band and the outfit changes… um… i’m a homo, but not quite that homo.
Amen. I didn’t like it either. But then again I didn’t have the attention span to get through 10. I’m can’t wait for the new on though.
Also, Kingdom Hearts fo’ life. Werd. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
totally waiting for Kingdom Hearts 2. I haven’t seen enough about the new Final Fantasy to be anticipatory or not. Hoping it drifts back to older themes/styles.
Jesus my spelling was all off.
That should have read, “I can’t wait for the new one, though.”
What about “I am queer and I don’t know WTF you’re talking about”??
;))
Final Fantasy was a game for the Nintendo published in 1987. There have been about 10 more games published in the series (ff2, ff3 and ff5 didn’t get translated and make it to the US until recently), and several (4ish) spin off series. Each entry in the series so far tells its own story, in its own unique universe, more or less, but they have unifying themes, which I could go into at length. =)
I’ve heard that final fantasy got the name because it was the dying breath of the publishing company, and it was far more successful than expected.
Does that help? =)
Thanks!
(Of course, I gathered it was something along these lines — I was just being a smart-ass! 😉
I figured you had the basic idea. But you really should explore it in greater depth. 😉
Oh no, not me! It’s just the sort of thing I would get *totally* engrossed in and then the rest of my life would go down the tubes. I’m the same way with Sim City: keep me away from that or it’s all over! (Jeffrey has it and it’s taking every ounce of willpower to resist! 🙂
Unscience
Given that the majority of the people reading your blog are probably queer (and probably technophiles who loves video games in general), what exactly does this tell you? You won’t be able to draw any real correlation between homosexuality and Final Fantasy fandom without a random sampling of the population.
For your next poll, I want to say that I like peppermint ice cream.
Re: Unscience
So unscientific. For awhile the queers who liked ff outnumbered the queers who didn’t which surprised me a little, but at this point, it appears to have reversed that trend. Also, I <3 my straight geek friends.
Well, so far it looks like a little more than half of queers are not Final Fantasy fans. That goes counter to any claim that Final Fantasy is a “queer” game. It is really gay, though.
but
It does confirm that nearly all of Stephen’s friends are playing for our side. or, “friends of Dorothy”. Or MSM. Whatever these young folk call it nowadays.
Re: but
There are some females in that group, donchya know. And some bi folks. =) Plus a few transgendered (well, I don’t know if any responded, but I have a few who subscribe) I was quite deliberate in my use of the word ‘queer’ =)
What if I’m bi and I like FF? What should I vote? *so confused*
Not to put you in a box or anything, but bisexuality falls under “queer” for most people. =)
It’s fine… I just wasn’t sure how I should vote.
*sniffle*
We always get left out.
At the time I am reading this, it appears (from your poll results) that being queer and being a final fantasy fan are independent.
However, it also appears that for every person on your journal who describes themselves as “not queer” there are four who describe themselves as “queer”.
Perhaps only straight people who read queer-frequented weblogs have the same statistical preference for final fantasy as queers.
Honestly this makes sense to me, what really connects me to my queer friends is the 0.45 bayesian truth of the statement “I am a fan of final fantasy”
ah
touché!
Reponding to this so late no one will probably ever see it (hi stephen) — in fact this is a pretty good indicator of how long ago I stopped reading LiveJournal — but here goes anyway.
I responded not a fan, but the truth is that I am a Final Fantasy Playa Hata who secretly enjoys some of them from time to time. Shh, don’t tell.
