After running across an old lj entry on the subject of the young “victim” of love in action, I did a little news search on the story. Zach has fallen off the radar, but LIA seems to be running into some tough times.
Getting a word in edgewise

thanks for the update.
The complaint stemmed from a Web logger going by the name of “Zach” who said his parents were sending him to a religious organization that would try to convert him to heterosexuality.
Too late. I’m pretty straight already.
hey… thats a really cute icon.
And thats some scarey stuff.
Thanks, the original picture is a little old, but I’ve gotten lazy about taking new pictures. Keeping my balance on the bedpost was a little tricky, but worked out alright in the end. =)
My review
I enjoyed it for what it was. I can’t say much more without spoiling it I guess, so I’ll shut up.
I will say it had better acting than some campy gay films I’ve seen recently, like the horrendously acted Eating Out. In fact, I’ll even claim the acting was better than your favorite, Latter Days.
Re: My review
I assume you are speaking of Hellbent, and thus commented on the wrong post 😉
I wouldn’t say Latter Days is my favorite, just my most recent gay cinema fixation.
Re: My review
Argh. Yes. Too many browser tabs. Working on too many issues at once. I think I’m going senile. Please shoot me.
What happened to Zach’s blog?
My suspicion is that his parents, once they heard about it, cracked down on it. The last entry is a “don’t be so mean to LIA, I do not want all this attention” in a very different style from his original posts. *shrug* I feel for the kid, but his individual story doesn’t engage me as much as the hope of LIA getting the smackdown.
Oh. Me too.
Here’s to more tough times for “Love In Action”, preferably the kind that are so tough that they never recover from them.
Organizations like that make me sick.
