It was a bit of a surprise to see foothills in the distance when I got out of the airport. Minneapolis and Chicago are not renowned for their dramatic terrain. I just hadn’t thought about it.
People come in more than two colors.
When walking back from getting my driver’s license replacement, I noticed a store front with fruit and decided to check out what they had. The place had a strong odor of incense. Turns out that they had more cooler space for cheese than meat. More for tofu than for cheese. And more for fake meat than for tofu. And there was a cat lying on the floor in the corner. I love the lower haight.
Odds are slim, as scu is short time blocks of sufficient duration.
Saturday post-lunch, back to the castro before 10a sunday is really the only available block that might work. Monday I have time, but I doubt Tom does. =( And much as I would love to see you guys, that’s quite a chunk of time crammed into a small car.
So, you’re in the bay area. And and I are back from Germany. This clearly means that we need to meet up sometime before you leave!
(Well, assuming you’ll be around past this weekend… unfortunately, our weekend is already booked solid).
*sigh* It seems like it wasn’t meant to be, this time. Looking at the times involved, especially with rush hour traffic, and it really isn’t practical for us to come up to East Bay or SF on a Monday night 🙁
Sorry to back out at the last minute 🙁
Next time, we’ll just have to try to arrange something in advance 🙂

Pretty much every time I visit the Midwest I’m startled and a little creeped out by how FLAT everything is. Pittsburgh’s hilly, and even the coastal MA areas I grew up in are a lot hillier than the Midwest. Everything just kinda looks wrong there.
Actually the bit of the midwest I did the bulk of my growing up in has considerably more interesting terrain elevation profiles than either chicago or minneapolis, though not quite as hilly as pittsburgh. (I’m referring here to junction city, oh, not zanesville, oh).
Which place was this?
Whole foods, but not the chain, just a medium size neighborhood market.
Hey, dude.
Can you and Urso drive scu down to santa cruz by any chance?

I don’t suppose you guys have time to head north?

Well, I don’t have much planned for monday, though I will be in Berkeley. I take off for Austin on Tuesday. =)
Things can never be easy, can they?
Any chance of you dropping down to South Bay for dinner on Monday night? 🙂
Given my lack of car, that’s more than a little out of the way. Any chance of you driving up to sf or the east bay? =)
We may be able to do that. The only problem is getting up there during rush hour…
I’ll talk to my lovely wife to see what she thinks 🙂

I’m jealous!
