I’m going to go see Invisible Ballots tomorrow evening (7pm, 5243 N Clark st, only showing listed). It’s a scare documentary on digital voting. Anyone wanna join?
Getting a word in edgewise

The experiences & I had at the last time we went to the polls were not heartening, to say the least. The gov’t. didn’t provide our precinct with enough machines, so the lines were really long, & a lot of people had some little problem with their records, making them “provisional voters”. But that’s incidental to the experience of working with the machines themselves.
The display layout & the interface were ill-shaped, asking the user to look at the screen while the user futzed around with a stylus on the table. The response time was pretty lousy, & that’s not good when you know that there’s plenty of people in line behind you, most of whom, like yourself, only get an hour off for visiting the polls. I think we’d get better voter turnout if Election Day was a holiday.
how was it?
If I’d actually ended up going, I’d have been happy to tell you. =) Ah well.
