So, I caved in, I went to the game store to purchase WoW. And they were out! The loser behind the counter recommended guild wars instead. I thanked him for the recommendation, but declined. When I got home, I checked out the game’s website. I’m glad I made the decision I did. The graphics appear flat out superior, but the game play sounds like it would suck doodee.
I’ve been playing my fiancee’s brother’s copy of guild wars this week. I recommend waiting a month or so and borrowing a friend’s account. It took about 5 minutes to download the GW client from the web and start playing, and accounts are persistent with no monthly fees. I estimate it will take about 5 days before I’m sick of the game, but it’s fun in the meantime.
What will a month change? =)
A bunch of people will be sick of Guild Wars and you’ll be able to borrow their account.
Guild Wars isn’t as fun as FFXI, imo, but it’s alot less demanding of my time, which I like alot.
As for WoW….I lost many of my good FFXI friends to that game, but most of them have come back now because they told me there’s just not that much left to do in the game.
FFXI still rules. =) imho of course.
Proudmoore -> Alliance -> Vice & Valour
You may ‘/who valour’ to see who’s on and ask for an invite. 🙂
Proudmoore -> Horde -> still signing guild charter
You can ‘/join vnv’ to pop on our horde chat channel.
Look for me: Alliance “Calamus”, horde “Chernovog”.
