GAO anxieties

So, work performance anxieties suck. I’m uncertain of my ability to hack it, though certain circumstances should make it easier to perform. 8 hours/day. No websurfing, no gaming, no im, and NO partisanship. (I seriously doubt they’d be cool with any the first 3, and even if they were, uh, probably not a good idea for me. =)

The last time I had a full time job was in 2002. The last time I was in a job with no net access was working with Ro. I’ve never had a job that was both full time and no net. I seriously slacked via webbrowsing at motorola. Starting in my teen years with DnD & no friends to play it with, I developed a habit of reading about games more than playing them. My motorola web-browsing certainly matched that pattern.

Anyway. The anxiety is still there, but I’m not about to let any of this stop me.

    You’d be surprised…

the gaming and IM for sure will be gone – you’ll be able to surf, though perhaps in a more, um, circumspect manner. As for the partisanship, I found it refreshing not to have political crap bantered about all day. ‘

You may find you (gasp!) enjoy the work!

    🙂

Well, for the gaming/im/email/etc, there’s always the lunch break and internet cafes. Though, the loner route seems antisocial. Enh, we’ll see how it goes.
