Let me tell you how I feel about grad school. If I find work I enjoy, where I feel like I’m useful, I will be happy to never finish my masters degree.

I frequently feel the same way. I made the mistake of confessing as much to my boss in a moment of levity, and he was all, YOU HAVE COMMITTED TO THIS PROJECT FOR 18 MONTHS.
Sure, just ruin my little fantasy.
The competitive dork in me wants to be the first of my siblings to have a masters degree, though, so I don’t think I would really ever quit. I keep telling myself that I can take anything for two years. It’s just two years! And I’m almost half done already!
It’s not so much what I can _take_ for two years, as what I can _keep doing_ for two years. =)
Your point is quite valid though. And I am so over my research assistantship. I wanna TA starting this semester, with stats. That would so rule.
Yikes! This reminds me why I didn’t like college in general.
