CA income taxes

So, I informed the CA tax board that I was not resident in CA in 2001 so they dropped off that particular $550 charge. Now they want me to file for my income from october – dec of 2002. or pay $350. How much work and annoyance would it be to get the documentation for my income in that time (from adecco and Ro), and turn it around to pay potentially substantially less in taxes v just biting the bullet and paying the $350?

Bleh, I say. Bleh!

  1. it’s so hard to decide whether it’s worth fighting this (on principal) or not…

especially after having done it several times already, one runs out of energy.. sigh.

  2. At this point, you should get the information out of adecco and Ro. Not because it’s going to be particularly fun or time-worthy, mind you. No, you should be doing it out of spite. Spite, I say! The very idea that they tried to take nearly an entire unearned grand from you should set your very blood to boiling and your teeth permanently grinding in your sleep. Embrace the dark side, Steve. Give in to your haaaaaate.

Okay. Never mind that. Honestly, though, did you not already file your taxes earlier? Why must you so it again?

  3. I am having the same trouble in OH. The keep saying that I didn’t file school district taxes in 2000. I ask you why are they just figuring it out and also why did they cash my check to pay the taxes if I hadn’t filed them? It is well worth the fight to get it straightened out. They told me I owed them over $600 and it ended up only costing me $10.00.
